Download files from FTP without knowing the names of the files

Hi

I use the create list action all the times to create a list of files in a folder. Is there a way to do this if the folder is an FTP folder? I need to download files from an FTP folder, but I do not know the file names in advance. I believe to use the download file action from ftp, I need to know the file name... or am I maybe wrong? I am totally new to FTP, so please be patient with me. hehe...

  Hi Ghita,
  
  in order to use FTP actions you will need to know the files names. It's different from what is available with regular files and folders.

  hmm, the files we receive arrives via EDI, and we do not know the names in advance. Isn't there any way Foxtrot can retrieve the names? :o/

  Hi Ghita,
  
  unfortunately, the in-built FTP connector in Foxtrot does not support this. But you could use the drag-and-drop feature with the FTP desktop application (like Filezilla, Core FTP etc). This might be the easiest.

  You could accomplish this faster and very reliably with a powershell action. WinSCP has a supported powershell module to do these things, and there are tons of production ready powershell FTP scripts out there if you google 'powershell ftp'.
