You may experience that Foxtrot acts unexpectedly when targeting Excel. When targeting the full window, everything is normal, but when targeting the actual workbook, an error message appears stating: "For better targeting, switch this workbook to 'Normal' view." even though it is set to normal view.
This may occur when there are multiple instances of Office installed on the machine. The usual suspect is Skype for Business or Microsoft Visio. Sometimes it is because Office was recently upgraded. The first thing to try and do would be to run a 'Repair' on the Office installation, this will solve the issue most of the time.
If running the 'Repair' does not work, you have to carefully make sure that you do not have multiple instances of Office installed on your machine. You may follow the instructions in below article on how to do this.
If you are still experiencing issues, it is a matter of identifying and uninstalling all Office suite products, restart the machine, then reinstalling them one at a time until it “breaks” again to figure out which is the problem.
